Mamaw Marthas cornbread

Put one half cup of lard in a nine-inch skillet  (don`t exceed) a half cup

place in a 400 degreese oven, let heat for a few minutes, until the grease sizzles

1 cup SR flour

One and a fourth cup of water (may take a little more )

One cup SR cornmeal

One cup of buttermilk. Mix all ingredients together and pour into the hot skillet.

Reduce the heat to 350 degrees and bake until golden brown on top
